"Monday Scouts" were a very successful troop, peaking at 36 Scouts a few years back with members involved in all sorts of scouting activities at home and abroad. After many years of involvement Ian Willis & Rennie Ritchie, wanted to step back (due to work and other pressures) to let someone else take on the Scout Leaders roles. Ian & Rennie were latterly holding down Group Scout Leader and District Commissioner roles, respectively, in addition to their Monday Leaders role. Sadly there were no volunteers and consequently due to Ian's & Rennie's reduced availability the quality of scouting offered to the Monday Scouts, diminished over recent years... the last troop trip abroad being to Holland during summer 2002.
Cupar has an excellent, purpose built, Scout hall with internal climbing wall and a considerable quantity of camping equipment. However, without adult support in the guise of Uniform Leaders and parents on the Group executive (fancy name for the parents' committee), scouting is not possible. Sadly Ian, in his GSL role, has had to suspend Monday Scouts until new leaders come forward. A crying shame, but if the mums and dads want their youngsters to enjoy scouting then they will either have to find new leaders or step into the role them selves.
Cupar Scout Group
have sections which meet on every weekday evening. From Beavers to Ventures our
numbers are very healthy. The Scout section, because of numbers, meets over two
evenings. Mondays and Thursdays . Whilst we are all one Scout Troop really,
there is quite a bit of personal pride involved and a bit rivalry between
Mondays and Thursdays. Needless to say I am one of the Scout Leaders who works
with "Mondays" so don't be surprised if some bias shows through in
the following pages, even though I was also Cupar's District Commissioner.

During Summer 1999 a group from Fife, including some from 10th Fife (1st Cupar) ventured off to Poland. This was a return trip on the back of a previous year's visit from the Polish Scouts, to Scotland. This in turn was on the back of an earlier trip to Poland.... and so on. There have been strong Polish/Scottish ties since the Second World War and this friendship continues into the youngest generation. Details of this latest trip can be found at Poland '99. |
| During August 2000 three Leaders accompanied 13 senior Scouts / Ventures in an expedition to Luxembourg. Light weight camping with EVERYTHING carried on the individuals backs. Details of this expedition can be found at Eurotour 2000. |

Our Scouts not
only do well on the International Scene but our efforts in badge work and

presentation of seven Chief Scouts Certificates to Cupar Scouts by our (ex)
