10th Fife (1st Cupar) Scout Group's...

Eurotour 2000 Cont...

Log rollingWhilst at Wiltz we were able to swim in the local swimming pool - special rates for Scouts. We were also able to enjoy hiking through the forests and most were able to get to grips with their axe work, for real.

Pioneering, rope-work and knife-work, were all put to good use and regular fire building / lighting should have lasting benefits for "survival" in the future.

The Elite head off...A group of six of the team, who picked the name "The Elite" took part in an overnight affair which saw them pack up the essential parts of their kit, including two tents and cooking kit, then head off on a hike with the intention of camping out then hiking back the following day. A good hike and camp away was enjoyed by all, but common sense prevailed and the group succeeded in hitching a train ride back to Wiltz the following day. It took a wee while for them to admit to not walking on the return trip but with the leaders having been Rovers / Ventures themselves, there are not many tricks they were not aware of and the truth leaked out.

Flag BreakWhilst at this camp the Team entered the International Scout Football Competition and albeit they had no football boots, a mixture of hiking boots and training shoes helped them secure Victory for Scotland. Similarly we held our own at the International Camp Fire later in the week.

There are many little stories associated with our stay in Wiltz and for the appropriate donation to Scout funds I will not recount them for the world to read... So if you are named below, we await your donation?

Paradiso Railway halt

So after a great week plus, it was back to Paradiso to catch the train to Luxembourg (city) before heading back to the Camp for our last three days abroad.
