This bargain is being sold as a work in progress, already the trailer has been fully refurbished with new rollers, new wheel bearings etc, and a new keelbox has been made and fitted to the boat. There are no sails with her and she needs reupholstering as some of the cushions are missing. The boat is fully sound, the standing rigging is in good order, although the running rigging could do with partial replacement. A message from Paola in response to an e-mail I sent to Italy...
"I could just tell you that we have a little (very) shipyard originally owned by some friends that loved E-boats and raced a lot on them in IOR class 7°, in the 80's we produced some ten boats. Now, still in love with E-boat after all these years, is just my father, brother and me trying to keep E-boat still alive in Italy! The last boat that we build was in the 90/93 (don't remember), and in the 2001 a new one (wich I'll keep for me) has been launched last autumn. Now we are trying to find some sale solutions (like the kit one) to keep building boats at a good construction level for people that can appreciate the "evergreen" style of this beautiful boat!
That's almost all, I'm afraid...

"I have commissioned a foundry
to cast a keel for me the price of casting is very reasonable, £397
+ vat. However, I also had to have a pattern made as I could not
track down the original. This cost £1,035 + vat. At least now there
is a pattern in existence and and any member needing a keel in future
can be referred to me."
The pattern is now for sale.

Not sure if this is
still the case, but permitted towing width in UK and mainland Europe
were slightly different resulting in the E-Boat being carried at a
slight angle when towed "abroad." However with recent
harmonisation of EU rules there is probably no requirement for the
rotating trailer.
